What’s Changed Since Jets Last Played Dolphins?
October 17, 2017 07:13 PM | Ethan Greenberg

The Jets first squared off against the Dolphins in Week 3 and won in wire-to-wire fashion, 20-6. Since that divisional contest, both the Green & White and the Dolphins have won two of their last three contests. This weekend's matchup will only be the Dolphins' second home game played at Hard Rock Stadium as they traveled across the pond in Week 4 and hosted the Saints at Wembley Stadium.

Miami is coming off an impressive Week 6 win over the NFC Champion Atlanta Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium where it overcame a 17-point deficit. Running back Jay Ajayi, whom the Jets held to 16 rushing yards in Week 3, ran for 130 yards on 26 carries for an average of five yards a clip. In order for the Green & White to have success on Sunday, they'll need to limit Ajayi once again.

Defensive Rematch to Watch: Jamal Adams vs. Jay Cutler
The obvious answer here is Ajayi vs. the Jets' front seven, which will be important, but let's go a different angle. Rookie safety Jamal Adams broke out in the first Jets-Dolphins meeting as he tallied a sack, two tackles for loss, and a pass defense. In consecutive plays, Adams made a diving PD on a ball intended for wide receiver DeVante Parker, who missed last week's game with an ankle injury, and recorded his first career sack.

Offensive Rematch to Watch: Jets OL vs. Dolphins DL
Offensive coordinator John Morton has made it clear he wants his unit to run the ball effectively. In their first meeting, the Jets' backs combined for 96 yards on 30 carries for an average of 3.2 yards per rush. Bilal Powell missed last week's contest against the Patriots with a calf injury and we'll see if he'll suit up against the Dolphins in Week 7. The Jets' ground attack has been up and down throughout the season and will face a tough test this weekend with Ndamukong Suh and Cameron Wake.
