Jamal Adams Delivers Strike at Citi Field

Rookie safety Jamal Adams got a taste of the Big Apple Saturday, throwing out the first pitch at Citi Field prior to the Mets game with the Washington Nationals.

A victim of his own success, the stakes were already high for the rookie defensive back. Adams threw out the first pitch at an LSU baseball game in March, which cruised down the middle of the plate.

Once he arrived in Queens and received a customized No. 33 Mets jersey, the 21-year-old toured the clubhouse. The first stop was the press room, followed by the batting cages, where he loosened up the right wing with Mets hitting coach Kevin Long.

Upon completion of his tour, which ended with a walk through the dugout, the 6'1", 213-pound Adams grabbed a quick bite to eat and made his way to the field for some final warmups before showtime.

So, how'd he do?

Like in Baton Rouge, the pitch went right down Broadway.
